Positive aspects and Disadvantages of carrying out Data Entry ...

Want a digital format from the challenging copy of any document? technologies can be the correct option. Changes are taking place in the field of using the improvement of modern day technology. Apparently, you may believe OCR service as a substitute of data entry service, nevertheless, OCR services include both benefits and disadvantages.

Overview of OCR

Optical Character Recognition is a contemporary technology for digital replication. OCR technology comes with computer software, hardware and an added circuit inside the laptop or computer to execute conversion approach. can not merely read the fonts but additionally recognize line breaks inside a document. The process of OCR is fairly easy and effortless to handle. The complete method of converting hard copy of a document into electronic document might take only a couple of seconds.

Advantages of OCR

In case you are trying to find only converting any document into editable digital format then there is nothing at all greater than OCR services. saves the time and effort of developing a digital replica of any document. No want to variety characters manually on a digital file. Just location the difficult copy with the document inside a scanner and get the digital format of that document using the assist of OCR computer software.

With OCR method it is possible to convert a document in numerous electronic formats like Microsoft Word, Excel, HTML, PDF, Text or Wealthy Text formats.

Documents, which are converted by means of OCR approach, are editable and let the user to modify the content. Compared to manual data entry service the expense of OCR service is fairly less for developing electronic replica of any document. OCR service proved much better than information entry service for the organizations, that are engaged in creating electronic copy of printed books.

Disadvantages of OCR Service

There are a number of disadvantages of OCR service with regards to the expense also as the approach of recognizing the characters. Initially, the cost of creating replica by means of OCR procedure may possibly seem lucrative but if you consider the expense of complete OCR program life cycle, the price will likely be considerably higher than. Correcting OCR errors counts more cost than preparing a digital format of the document.

High accuracy OCR software program can read greater than 400 characters/second, around, and generates less number of OCR errors compared to any ordinary OCR software program. Therefore, if you are searching for OCR procedure you will need to maintain a separate workstation for correcting OCR errors.

OCR computer software just isn?t efficient in recognizing the handwriting and also the fonts, that are quite related to handwriting. In such cases manual typing plays far better function than OCR procedure.

How effective is than OCR?

Compared to ordinary OCR process, conversion life cycle price is less in information entry service and it provides total flexibility to information entry operators preparing digital documents from numerous formats like tough copy or audio files. Consider the service of medical transcription where you have to prepare digital documents from audio files. OCR can?t prepare digital document by scanning any audio files. In such services, information entry can prove better than OCR.

It has been found that for services like mailing list conversion or information extraction from the net, manual data entry services are nonetheless broadly accepted across the sector. Information entry service comes with a number of levels staring from inserting raw data in a document to an error free document. OCR is efficient through the initial level of data entry service but can?t be a substitute of data entry service. However, the selection of a right service (Data Entry or OCR) depends on specifications of the job.

NASA and University Researchers Find a Clue to How Life Turned Left

Researchers analyzing meteorite fragments that fell on a frozen lake in Canada have developed an explanation for the origin of life's handedness - why living things only use molecules with specific orientations. The work also gave the strongest evidence to date that liquid water inside an asteroid leads to a strong preference of left-handed over right-handed forms of some common protein amino acids in meteorites.

The result makes the search for extraterrestrial life more challenging.

"Our analysis of the amino acids in meteorite fragments from Tagish Lake gave us one possible explanation for why all known life uses only left-handed versions of amino acids to build proteins," said Dr. Daniel Glavin of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. Glavin is lead author of a paper on this research to be published in the journal Meteoritics and Planetary Science.

In January, 2000, a large meteoroid exploded in the atmosphere over northern British Columbia, Canada, and rained fragments across the frozen surface of Tagish Lake. Because many people witnessed the fireball, pieces were collected within days and kept preserved in their frozen state.

This ensured that there was very little contamination from terrestrial life. "The Tagish Lake meteorite continues to reveal more secrets about the early Solar System the more we investigate it," said Dr. Christopher Herd of the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, a co-author on the paper who provided samples of the Tagish Lake meteorite for the team to analyze.

"This latest study gives us a glimpse into the role that water percolating through asteroids must have played in making the left-handed amino acids that are so characteristic of all life on Earth."

Proteins are the workhorse molecules of life, used in everything from structures like hair to enzymes, the catalysts that speed up or regulate chemical reactions. Just as the 26 letters of the alphabet are arranged in limitless combinations to make words, life uses 20 different amino acids in a huge variety of arrangements to build millions of different proteins.

Amino acid molecules can be built in two ways that are mirror images of each other, like your hands. Although life based on right-handed amino acids would presumably work fine, they can't be mixed. "Synthetic proteins created using a mix of left- and right-handed amino acids just don't work," says Dr. Jason Dworkin of NASA Goddard, co-author of the study and head of the Goddard Astrobiology Analytical Laboratory, where the analysis was performed.

Since life can't function with a mix of left- and right-handed amino acids, researchers want to know how life - at least, life on Earth - got set up with the left-handed ones.

"The handedness observed in biological molecules - left-handed amino acids and right-handed sugars - is a property important for molecular recognition processes and is thought to be a prerequisite for life," said Dworkin. All ordinary methods of synthetically creating amino acids result in equal mixtures of left- and right-handed amino acids.

Therefore, how the nearly exclusive production of one hand of such molecules arose from what were presumably equal mixtures of left and right molecules in a prebiotic world has been an area of intensive research.

The team ground up samples of the Tagish Lake meteorites, mixed them into a hot-water solution, then separated and identified the molecules in them using a liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer. "We discovered that the samples had about four times as many left-handed versions of aspartic acid as the opposite hand," says Glavin.

Aspartic acid is an amino acid used in every enzyme in the human body. It is also used to make the sugar substitute Aspartame. "Interestingly, the same meteorite sample showed only a slight left-hand excess (no more than eight percent) for alanine, another amino acid used by life."

"At first, this made no sense, because if these amino acids came from contamination by terrestrial life, both amino acids should have large left-handed excesses, because both are common in biology," says Glavin. "However, a large left-hand excess in one and not the other tells us that they were not created by life but instead were made inside the Tagish Lake asteroid." The team confirmed that the amino acids were probably created in space using isotope analysis.

Isotopes are versions of an element with different masses; for example, carbon 13 is a heavier, and less common, variety of carbon. Since the chemistry of life prefers lighter isotopes, amino acids enriched in the heavier carbon 13 were likely created in space.

"We found that the aspartic acid and alanine in our Tagish Lake samples were highly enriched in carbon 13, indicating they were probably created by non-biological processes in the parent asteroid," said Dr. Jamie Elsila of NASA Goddard, a co-author on the paper who performed the isotopic analysis. This is the first time that carbon isotope measurements have been reported for these amino acids in Tagish Lake. The carbon 13 enrichment, combined with the large left-hand excess in aspartic acid but not in alanine, provides very strong evidence that some left-handed proteinogenic amino acids - ones used by life to make proteins - can be produced in excess in asteroids, according to the team.

Some have argued that left-handed amino acid excesses in meteorites were formed by exposure to polarized radiation in the solar nebula - the cloud of gas and dust from which asteroids, and eventually the Solar System, were formed. However, in this case, the left-hand aspartic acid excesses are so large that they cannot be explained by polarized radiation alone. The team believes that another process is required.

Additionally, the large left-hand excess in aspartic acid but not in alanine gave the team a critical clue as to how these amino acids could have been made inside the asteroid, and therefore how a large left-hand excess could arise before life originated on Earth.

"One thing that jumped out at me was that a

lanine and aspartic acid can crystallize differently when you have mixtures of both left-handed and right-handed molecules," said Dr. Aaron Burton, a NASA Postdoctoral Program Fellow at NASA Goddard and a co-author on the study.

"This led us to find several studies where researchers have exploited the crystallization behavior of molecules like aspartic acid to get left-handed or right-handed excesses.

"Because alanine forms different kinds of crystals, these same processes would produce equal amounts of left- and right-handed alanine. We need to do some more experiments, but this explanation has the potential to explain what we see in the Tagish Lake meteorite and other meteorites."

The team believes a small initial left-hand excess could get amplified by crystallization and dissolution from a saturated solution with liquid water. Some amino acids, like aspartic acid, have a shape that lets them fit together in a pure crystal - one comprised of just left-handed or right-handed molecules.

For these amino acids, a small initial left- or right-hand excess could become greatly amplified at the expense of the opposite-handed crystals, similar to the way a large snowball gathers more snow and gets bigger more rapidly when rolled downhill than a small one. Other amino acids, like alanine, have a shape that prefers to join together with their mirror image to make a crystal, so these crystals are comprised of equal numbers of left- and right-handed molecules.

As these "hybrid" crystals grow, any small initial excess would tend to be washed out for these amino acids. A requirement for both of these processes is a way to convert left-handed to right-handed molecules, and vice-versa, while they are dissolved in the solution.

This process only amplifies a small excess that already exists. Perhaps a tiny initial left-hand excess was created by conditions in the solar nebula. For example, polarized ultraviolet light or other types of radiation from nearby stars might favor the creation of left-handed amino acids or the destruction of right-handed ones, according to the team. This initial left-hand excess could then get amplified in asteroids by processes like crystallization.

Impacts from asteroids and meteorites could deliver this material to Earth, and left-handed amino acids might have been incorporated into emerging life due to their greater abundance, according to the team. Also, similar enrichments of left-handed amino acids by crystallization could have occurred on Earth in ancient sediments that had water flowing through them, such as the bottoms of rivers, lakes, or seas, according to the team.

The result complicates the search for extraterrestrial life - like microbial life hypothesized to dwell beneath the surface of Mars, for example. "Since it appears a non-biological process can create a left-hand excess in some kinds of amino acids, we can't use such an excess alone as proof of biological activity," says Glavin.

How Queen was persuaded to join James Bond act

LONDON ? The queen of England was persuaded to take part in her hilarious Opening Ceremony act with James Bond following a personal plea from her favorite movie director.

The English monarch made an exception to her public policy of speaking only in formal settings in order to perform a scene with Bond actor Daniel Craig that ended with stunt doubles resembling the pair leaping from a helicopter above the Olympic Stadium.

[ Related: Queen causes stir in athletes' village ]

The segment stole the show Friday night and was made possible after Danny Boyle, the brains behind the ceremony and an award-winning director, used the queen's love of his greatest film ? "Slumdog Millionaire" ? to his advantage.

"The queen made herself more accessible than ever before," Boyle said.

Yet her majesty may not have agreed to the highly unconventional request if it had not come from Boyle himself. It is not known whether Boyle realized this or not, but the entire royal family is huge fans of his work and have watched "Slumdog Millionaire" on countless occasions.

Princes William and Harry, the queen's grandsons, joined the "Slumdog" craze in 2008, when the film broke box-office records and walked away with eight Academy Awards.

[ Photos: London Games Opening Ceremony ]

William's wife, Kate, is also an admirer, as is his father, Prince Charles, and Charles's wife, Camilla, as well as cousin Zara Phillips, who is competing in the Olympic equestrian events. The queen watched the movie on the advice of her grandchildren and made no secret of her enjoyment of the production, which followed the journey of an orphaned Indian boy from the slums of Mumbai.

"It is very much a favorite," a royal source said. "The queen watched it after being encouraged by William, Harry, and others and liked it so much she saw it again. That certainly didn't hurt when Mr. Boyle made his request for her royal highness to be involved in the Games in an extra role beyond her official capacity."

The Bond story reflected what has been a noticeable softening in the public persona of the queen in recent years. The image of the royal family was at a significant low point following the death of Diana, princess of Wales, and the queen has since tried to convey a more down-to-earth personality.

[ Related: NBC blasted for not showing Opening Ceremony live ]

The royal video saw Bond driven into the grounds of Buckingham Palace in the back of a black London taxicab before being led to meet the queen, who was writing at a desk. She turned to face him and uttered the single line: "Good evening, Mr. Bond."

Agent 007 and the monarch then climbed aboard a Westland helicopter, which took off into the London skies, then "reappeared" at the stadium for one of the greatest moments of an outstanding event.

Adviser: Romney would back strike against Iran

JERUSALEM (AP) ? Mitt Romney would back an Israeli military strike against Iran aimed at preventing Tehran from obtaining nuclear capability, a top foreign policy adviser said early Sunday, outlining the aggressive posture the Republican presidential candidate will take toward Iran in a speech in Israel later in the day.

Romney has said he has a "zero tolerance" policy toward Iran obtaining the capability to build a nuclear weapon.

"If Israel has to take action on its own, in order to stop Iran from developing the capability, the governor would respect that decision," foreign policy adviser Dan Senor told reporters ahead of the speech, planned for late Sunday near Jerusalem's Old City.

Romney believes the option of a U.S. attack should also be "on the table."

The Obama administration also hasn't ruled out the military option, and U.S. President Barack Obama has so far been relying on sanctions and diplomatic negotiations to discourage Iran from building a nuclear bomb.

For its part, Iran says it is not interested in nuclear weapons and its nuclear program is for peaceful, civilian purposes.

The Israelis are considering a strike because they fear Iran could be moving its nuclear enrichment sites further underground, out of reach of the weapons Israel has available.

An Israeli newspaper reported Sunday that the Obama administration's top security official briefed Israel's prime minister earlier this month on U.S. plans for a possible attack on Iran.

According to the Haaretz daily, National Security Adviser Tom Donilon sought to reassure Israel that Washington is prepared to act militarily should diplomacy and sanctions fail to pressure Iran to abandon its nuclear enrichment program.

An Israeli government spokesman did not respond to a request for comment. A U.S. Embassy spokesman couldn't be reached.

Iran's nuclear program has become the most pressing problem for the U.S. and Israel, and one that is a far easier cause to take up for an American administration in an election year. Republicans have consistently criticized Obama for putting too much pressure on Israel in the peace process and being too weak on Iran.

Obama rejects the criticism, and his aides point to what they call unprecedented U.S.-Israeli security cooperation.

Senor was previewing the speech Romney plans in Jerusalem after he spends the day meeting with Israeli officials.

"Make no mistake: the ayatollahs in Tehran are testing our moral defenses. They want to know who will object, and who will look the other way." Romney says in an excerpt of his speech provided to reporters. "My message to the people of Israel and the leaders of Iran is one and the same: I will not look away; and neither will my country."

Over the course of the day, Romney will confront some of the world's most difficult peace and security challenges as he looks to demonstrate to Jewish and evangelical voters back home that he's a better friend to Israel than Obama.

Romney faces high stakes as he begins his talks with top Israeli officials and meets with the Palestinian prime minister. Mindful of polls back home that show a tight presidential contest, the former one-term Massachusetts governor is looking to burnish his foreign policy credentials and prove his mettle as a possible commander in chief.

The trip is a chance for Romney to draw implicit contrasts with Obama and demonstrate how he would lead America on the world stage.

But Romney arrived in Jerusalem Saturday night after a difficult few days in Britain, where he made the mistake of criticizing the country's Olympic Games and raised the hackles of his hosts. The gaffe undermined the stated goal of his weeklong journey through Britain, Israel and Poland: emphasizing America's ties with longstanding allies.

"In a time of turmoil and peril in Israel's neighborhood, it is important that the security of America's commitments to Israel will be as clear as humanly possible. When Israel feels less secure in the neighborhood, it should feel more secure of the commitment of the United States to its defense," Romney said in a Friday interview with the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.

Romney has pledged not to criticize Obama while on foreign soil, honoring longstanding American tradition of leaving politics at the water's edge. But his aide's announcement of Romney's willingness to express support for an Israeli strike while in Jerusalem represents an effort to contrast the two presidential opponents.

In interviews with Israeli newspapers ahead of his arrival, Romney has both criticized Obama and commented on policy details.

"Iran is closer to nuclearization than it was when President Obama took office. It is hard to feel that the events of the last three and a half years have strengthened America's posture and promoted the prospects of peace," Romney told Hayom, a conservative Israeli publication bankrolled by billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson. Romney was still in the U.S. when he spoke to the paper, though his remarks weren't published until Friday, when he was already abroad.

In the interview with Ha'aretz, Romney urged caution in supporting rebel forces in Syria. He's previously said the U.S. should do more to arm the opposition there, but reports this week say Islamist terror groups could now be an element of rebel forces, prompting caution from U.S. officials.

"I think it is important for the responsible nations of the world to seek to understand which forces in Syria represent real change, rather than the kind of destruction that might occur if al-Qaeda were to seize the development of chaos and assert leadership in some significant way in Syria," Romney said Friday.

Romney will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a host of Israeli security officials. He'll also meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres and the leaders of Israel's political opposition. Romney will also hold a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, though his advisers say he didn't have time to meet with Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas.

Romney plans to spend the evening dining at Netanyahu's home ? the Israeli leader invited Romney and his wife to break the fast for the Jewish holiday Tisha B'Av. The holy day, celebrated Sunday, commemorates the destruction of two temples in Jerusalem. Romney and Netanyahu have known each other since both were young businessmen at Boston Consulting Group in the 1970s.

On Monday, Romney plans a fundraiser with top American supporters in Israel, some guests have flown in from the U.S. specifically for the event. His campaign has barred reporters from covering his comments to the 50 or so wealthy backers who will gather at the luxurious King David Hotel ? all of whom will have donated $50,000 or raised at least $100,000. Keeping the remarks private is a change from how Romney handles fundraisers in the United States, where a group of reporters are allowed into events held in public spaces like hotels.

Expected among the attendees is Adelson, who has pledged to spend $100 million to defeat Obama and who has given millions to a third-party group supporting Romney's presidency.

While Romney is left to implicit contrasts with his Democratic opponent, Obama has been focusing on Israel, signing legislation on Friday increasing military and civilian ties between the U.S. and Israel. And he authorized the release of an additional $70 million in military aid for Israel, a previously announced move that appeared timed to Romney's trip.

Egypt's president faces backlash from allies

CAIRO (AP) ? An alliance of pro-democracy advocates on Saturday criticized Egypt's new Islamist president for unilaterally choosing a prime minister with no track record, while leading without transparency and alienating political groups with liberal leanings.

The National Front alliance ? an umbrella group of democracy advocates, secularists and moderate Islamists behind the uprising that drove longtime authoritarian ruler Hosni Mubarak from power last year ? said Mohammed Morsi has reneged on campaign promises to form a national unity government.

On Tuesday, Morsi surprised the country by choosing an unknown technocrat and former water minister, Hesham Kandil, as his prime minister. Many advocates see Kandil, a U.S.-educated engineer in his 40s, as a political lightweight.

The new government faces a mounting crisis amid alarming lawlessness, a flagging economy, and public frustration. Hospitals have come under attack by angry Egyptians, while demonstrators block roads in frustration over frequent power outages and a lack of running water. Labor strikes are widespread.

Morsi picked Kandil a month after assuming his post as Egypt's first elected civilian president. Observers say the delay reflected hesitation by Morsi and his group the Muslim Brotherhood to reach out to strong consensus figures.

In a news conference, the Front said Morsi's decision-making "lacks transparency and clarity," creating "a clouded political scene." They reminded the president of his debt to allies who supported him last month in the decisive round of voting, helping him beat old-guard rival Ahmed Shafiq.

In return for the support, Morsi, a former leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, had pledged inclusiveness. In a meeting with the Front last month, he said he would choose an independent, nationalist politician to be Egypt's prime minister.

"It was surprising that the person named ... didn't meet the criteria and this is the first indicator of the path we are taking," said Heba Raouf, a moderate Islamist political science professor and a member of the Front. She said talks over the new government were held "behind closed doors."

Kandil on Saturday said that he will announce members of his cabinet on Thursday, according to Egypt's state-run news agency. Daily papers carried speculation about the incoming members, who will hail from Morsi's Brotherhood, an ultraconservative Muslim Salafist bloc, and pools of technocrats with no clear political affiliation.

The liberal Wafd party, one of the oldest parties in Egypt and a one-time political ally to the Muslim Brotherhood, said in a statement that it will not join Morsi's new government. Several current ministers, including Wafd party Tourism Minister Mounir Fakhri Abdel-Nour, a Christian, have said they will not serve in the new cabinet if asked.

Morsi is also under heavy pressure from the powerful military council which took power after the ouster of Mubarak. Before naming him as a victor, the council dissolved the Muslim Brotherhood-led parliament, took over legislative authorities and trimmed Morsi's presidential powers.

The National Front said those moves created a "duplication of authority" in Egypt and called on Morsi to defy the military and fight for his powers.

Attempts to take on the generals have failed, however. Earlier this month, Morsi ordered the dissolved parliament to reconvene, but the move was struck down by the country's Constitutional Court, which said the parliament is unconstitutional because based on a flawed election.

The court is packed by Mubarak-era and anti-Islamist judges who are fervent opponents of adding more religion to public life, which they believe Brotherhood's and Morsi aim to do.

The conflict over the new cabinet is fast becoming the next contest between Morsi and the military. Political actors doubt the generals would allow Morsi and Kandil free reign in forming a government, especially when it comes to the so-called sovereignty portfolios that include the ministries of defense, interior, foreign affairs and justice.

National Front member Mohammed el-Said Idris urged Morsi to work with a broader coalition of political forces in order to stand up to the army, whose generals were appointed by Mubarak.

"We are in an era in which institutions filled with old regime appointees are the ones in power," he said. "The president should take the initiative and create a partnership... or else we will reach a deadlock."

self improvement - How To Quickly Develop An Attractive Personality

If there's one thing that can help you out in every single aspect of life, it's having an attractive personality. Unlike your looks, which you're pretty much stuck with, you can develop your personality. And most people would readily agree that while looks are important, it's personality that really matters. In this article, you'll learn some proven tips that will help you develop an attractive personality that will make life much, much easier.

The first thing to do is think of somebody to model. This can be a real person you know, a real person you don't know, or even a character from a book or a movie. You can even put together several personality traits from several different people. Just don't get your brain from somebody named "Abby Normal."

One thing that has a dramatic impact on your personality is your voice. If your voice is high and squeaky, like Mickey Mouse, you won't ever be elected president. On the other hand, if you sound like the Dark Knight, you wouldn't make a very good kindergarten teacher. Make sure to model your voice to be congruent with the personality you're trying to create.

It's one thing to wish to change, but it's quite different to actually making the changes. It can feel very uncomfortable changing the way you walk and talk, so it may take some getting used to. But the more you practice these new behaviors, the more quickly they'll become who you are. Just dedicate yourself to making them happen, rather than vaguely wishing they'll happen on their own.

A powerful way to affect immediate change is to alter the way you dress. These make a quick impression on people. It's easy to change your personality when people are treating you differently.

One way to help you change your persona is to engage in different activities. Try different sports, hobbies, or other activities that people with your desired personality would engage in.

Another great way to change your personality is to hang out with different people. Obviously, if you are trying to become known as a intelligent, forward thinking genius, you shouldn't spend time in the sports bar every weekend. Maybe hanging out with the chess club is a better alternative.

You see, it really easy to change your personality. Just figure out the person you want to be, and start doing things they'd do. Talk they way you imagine them talking, and act the way you imagine them acting. You'll be a completely new person in no time.

If you'd like to take advantage of some powerful mind control techniques to powerfully improve your life, then head on over to the self improvement site today. You'll find some powerfully effective tools to help you get whatever you want out of life.

'Tree-hugging granola eaters'? Forum ponders how to bring impact ...

Almost everyone agrees that impact investing is growing, but few seem to agree on how to bring it to more mainstream and traditional investors. The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and GIIN Forum on Impact Investing in Latin America and the Caribbean, held at the end of May, debated whether an investment needs an innovative angle to attract impact investors. Over 200 participants came to the event at the IDB Group?s offices in Washington to discuss how the LAC region can benefit from increased interest in impact investing, but few answers were forthcoming. Innovative models attract interest and attention, but they are often difficult to take through the test phase to prove readiness for market investments. What is the answer, wondered participants. More accelerators? More work on ecosystems?

Most agreed on the importance of development finance institutions like IDB which can bring together public sector policymakers with expertise in both the development and private sectors. However, more awareness of impact investment and the opportunities it offers will be needed. Organizations like GIIN are promoting these, along with greater transparency in the measurement of impact. One problem was image: mainstream investors, as one blogger on the event wrote, often ?view Impact Investors touting the Impact card as tree-hugging granola eaters that aren?t real bankers?. The participant pointed out that, in their portfolio, the financially successful companies had greater social impact than the ones that put social goals centre stage.

[WATCH]: Home Workout !!!SIX PACK ABS!!! How to gain muscle ...

Rating: 4

Go to BuildMuscleBurnFat.info my FREE workout plan Build Muscle and Burn Fat FAST AS HELL! Keys to getting a six pack: You can have the greatest, most muscular set of abs in the world, but if they are blanketed by a layer of body fat, who cares. In order to rid yourself of the extra body fat around your midsection, you need to incorporate effective cardio sessions into your fitness plan. You cannot spot-reduce the midsection by doing extra ab exercises like crunches or sit-ups. You first must burn off the body fat through proper cardio to properly define the area. Abdominal training by itself will not do much. Cardio needs to be intense enough to do the trick. Three to four sessions a week of intense jogging, running, the Stairmaster, the elliptical, jumping rope, or biking should be enough to get the process in gear. Swimming, hiking, and taking aerobics classes are beneficial as well. Nothing beats jogging or running. It is the most intense, efficient, and effective method of burning calories. If running outside hurts your joints, try running inside on a treadmill or outside on a dirt path. It definitely is easier on the body. Again, you NEED three to four intense cardio sessions a week to help create a calorie deficit and help rid the body of the fat that covers your abs. Proper Nutrition: Do not sabotage your results in the gym by giving yourself a passport to pig out. Ridding the body of fat once and for all is accomplished by proper nutrition more so than ?

How summer thunderstorms could be punching new holes in the ozone layer (+video)

A study looking at conditions in the lower stratosphere, where the ozone layer resides, suggests a link between climate change and the amount of ultraviolet radiation reaching Earth's surface.

By Pete Spotts,?Staff writer / July 26, 2012

This NOAA satellite image shows clouds cover the Northern and Eastern U.S. There have been reports of severe thunderstorm development across the Northeast. A recent study has tied summer thunderstorms to climate change.

Global warming could open new holes in Earth's ozone layer at latitudes that until now have seemed immune to the ozone destruction that recurs over Antarctica and the Arctic, a new study warns.

The underappreciated keys to this conundrum: water vapor and temperatures in the lower stratosphere, where the ozone layer appears. Both, the researchers say, reach summertime values over the continental US known to encourage ozone-destroying chemicals that are already aloft to attack ozone.

The team makes no attempt to project when significant erosion might be expected to occur. And researchers have yet to make the measurements that would confirm that the reactions the study describes are occurring. Rather, it points to conditions that are appearing and are known to stimulate stratospheric ozone destruction.

The results suggest a clear link between climate change and the amount of harmful ultraviolet radiation reaching Earth's surface, says James Anderson, a Harvard atmospheric scientist and the lead author of the study, which appears in Friday's issue of the journal Science.

When people talk about global warming, "most people would have their backyard warmer than it is now," he says. But global warming "is not about that," he adds. "It's about these feedbacks that couple the system into irreversible paths forward. That's the primary concern."

At ground level, ozone is a pollutant ? a key element of smog. In the stratosphere, however, it shields organisms on Earth from destructively excessive levels of ultraviolet light from the sun.

The study by Dr. Anderson's team is based on well-established atmospheric chemistry and observations over the continental United States of an underappreciated character in the ozone story: summer thunderstorms.

In essence, the team found that thunderstorms and their powerful, convective updrafts drive unexpectedly large concentrations of water vapor high into the stratosphere. The high concentrations of water vapor alter conditions in ways that encourage ozone destruction when the man-made chemicals associated with ozone depletion are present.

If the frequency and intensity of mid-latitude storms increase with time, as some global-warming models suggest, Anderson and his colleagues say they are concerned that ozone destruction at mid-latitudes could become one of those irreversible feedbacks.

"This is a really important find to nail down," says Mary Barth, an atmospheric scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo., noting that it begs for field measurements to see how valid the warning is and how widely any effect might reach.

Dr. Barth, who was not part of Anderson's team, and colleagues have just completed a field project gathering data on thunderstorms and their impact on atmospheric chemistry, including ozone reactions.

In fact, Anderson's team initially was working on another climate problem: the formation of cirrus clouds and their effect on climate. Clouds represent one of the big areas of uncertainty in climate models. And cirrus clouds can have a warming effect on climate by allowing sunlight through but trapping heat rising up from underneath. The tops of thunderheads are one source of cirrus clouds, which assume their feather-like appearance as high-altitude winds blow across the tops of the thunderheads, giving them their anvil shape.

Researchers have known that the most powerful thunderstorms, whose strong updrafts can punch through the boundary between the troposphere (where weather happens) and the stratosphere, can deposit large amounts of water vapor in the stratosphere. But Anderson's team was using high-altitude aircraft to measure water vapor rising the tops of a broader range of thunderstorms.

"We weren't hunting for big game here," he says. The aircraft were taking measurements from garden-variety summer thunderstorms over the Midwest and along the East Coast.

"To our huge surprise, we discovered that those convective storms were not simply distributing water in the upper troposphere," he says. Rather, they were lofting water vapor three to four miles into the stratosphere. Plumes often reached altitudes exceeding 60,000 feet.

Anderson had been deeply involved in studies of ozone depletion over Antarctica and the Arctic. What researchers learned about Arctic ozone depletion in particular triggered alarm bells. There, ozone depletion was all about the interplay between water vapor, temperature, the ozone-destroying compounds, and tiny particles known as sulfate aerosols ? which act as tiny platforms on which chemical reactions can occur.

As water-vapor concentrations rose, so did the temperature at which the ozone-eating reactions could begin to take place, suggesting that the temperatures and water vapor were the key controls.

Under commonly observed conditions of water vapor and aerosol concentrations, the temperature at which ozone-depleting reactions would take place is about minus 119 degrees F., the researchers explain. Double the amount of water vapor, and the temperature at which reactions start rises by about 10 degrees F., bringing it within the range of temperatures commonly found in the stratosphere during mid-latitude summers.

Anderson's team studied data from the continental US, but it notes that similar conditions may appear over other parts of the globe.

The study points to "the potential for a pretty significant effect on stratospheric ozone at latitudes where we normally wouldn't think that would happen," said Mario Molina, an atmospheric scientist at the University of California at San Diego who shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1995 with the late Frank Rowland. The two worked out the chemistry behind stratospheric ozone depletion and chlorofluorocarbons, once widely used as refrigerants and aerosol-spray propellants.

"Many ecological systems are quite sensitive to ultraviolet radiation, and they have not evolved the repair mechanisms for more severe ozone depletion," Dr. Molina said in a prepared statement.

The 1987 Montreal Protocol and subsequent agreements have played important roles in halting production of key ozone-depleting chemicals, Anderson notes. But these compounds remain in the stratosphere for decades. Moreover, the sulfate aerosols there occur naturally: They are not affected by controls on sulfur emissions at ground level.

Without reductions in greenhouse-gas emissions ? especially carbon dioxide, which itself remains in the atmosphere for centuries ? ozone holes once limited to the poles could become regular summertime features over some of the most populated places on the planet, the team suggests.

With the Montreal Protocol, many people said in effect, problem solved ? let's move on, Anderson says, acknowledging that even he had dealt with ozone destruction and global warming as separate issues.

People "completely forgot about the remarkable dependence of the destruction of ozone on water and temperature," he says.

Why Women Entrepreneurs Don?t Receive Funding

Grace Nasri

Written by Grace Nasri, managing editor at comparison engine FindTheBest. She works with the NYC chapter of Women 2.0,?a women?s tech and entrepreneurship group.

The facts:?Women make up just 6% of chief executives at the leading 100 tech companies. Women are launching companies at a rate 1.5 times higher than the national average, but they receive less than 10 percent of venture funding. Women make up only 9% of board members of Silicon Valley companies. At the leading 25 VC firms, only 8% of the investment professionals are women.

The opinions:?The rationalizations as to why this is the case range from placing the onus on women for not majoring in quantitative fields and lacking the necessary skills needed to lead or invest in successful companies, to blaming what some see as a male-dominated culture that promotes traditionally masculine-qualities at the expense of women. The reality likely falls somewhere in-between.

Despite the relative lack of women in the tech and venture capital world, there are many successful female partners thriving in this space today?many of whom say that despite the low numbers, the VC industry is a great place for women.

Deborah Farrington (StarVest Partners), Jenny Lee (GGV Capital) and Annie Lamont (Oak Investment Partners) have made Forbes? Midas List of the leading venture capitalists over the years. They shared their personal stories about how they got their start, what inspires them about the space and what advice they would give fellow women aspiring to enter venture investing.

The venture world embraces many backgrounds

A unique thing about the venture capital industry is that it welcomes a range of backgrounds. Of the women interviewed in this article, one has a background in business, one is an engineer and one is a political scientist.

?Women need to realize that there are many ways to get involved in venture capital,? Farrington, who received her BS in Economics at Smith College and went on to get her MBA at Harvard Business School, advised. ?My background in finance gave me the expertise to analyze business models. For e-commerce investing, women who have backgrounds in retail, fashion and media are well prepared because they understand the customers.?

The venture capital space is great for women

Venture capitalists tend to agree that since the industry is so performance-based and results-driven, it favors people solely on objective and quantifiable metrics?leaving little room for discrimination or favoritism.

Lee, who received her BS in Electrical Engineering at Cornell and her MBA from the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University, said that being a woman never hindered her; in fact, she says the advantage of working in such a metrics-driven sector means performance is judged on a very objective scale. ?I do not feel hindered [as a female VC]. The big advantage of being in the venture capital industry is that performance can be clearly measured by the work you have done, CEOs you have supported?and the returns you have delivered. Staying focused, finding good companies to invest in and?returning capital to our investors continue to be the number one objective and best measurement for?performance?in our industry,? Lee explained, adding that there are many great things women can bring to the table in the venture world.

?Women have a sixth sense that?can sometimes be useful when combined with analytical skills to assess startup team dynamics and personalities.? Women may also work better on male-dominated boards to help balance views and perspectives,? Lee said.

Online Sales Tax Congressional Hearing | TaxRates.com

Today the House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the Marketplace Equity Act (HR 3179), a bill that would broaden state power to require Internet retailers to collect sales tax. ?

In his statement on the hearing, Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith gave an overview of the following key factors involved in taxing online sales.

  1. In 1992 the Supreme Court ruled, in?Quill Corp v. North Dakota, that a state may not force a retailer to collect and remit state sales and use tax, unless the retailer has a physical presence in the state. According to Smith, this ? . . . makes sense for small businesses who cannot afford to track and comply with 9,000 different tax codes as a cost of doing business throughout the country.?
  2. However, brick-and-mortar retailers argue that this ruling creates inequity between them and their online counterparts. Furthermore, states and localities maintain that consumer use tax, owed by those who shop online, is ?. . . easily avoided, rarely paid and difficult to enforce.?
  3. Smith concludes: ?The Constitution does not require a physical presence standard as a tax collection criterion. Congress may pass legislation that uses a different standard [than Quill] under its power to regulate interstate commerce.?

There are two other proposed bills that would grant states the right, under certain conditions, to require online retailers without a physical presence in the state to collect and remit state sales tax:

  • The Main Street Fairness Act?(S 1452 / HR 2701) ? Read twice by Senate Committee and referred to Committee on Finance on 7/29/2011.*
  • The Marketplace Fairness Act (S. 1832) ? Referred to Senate Committee on Finance on 11/9/2011.*?2)?Added as an amendment?to the Small Jobs and Tax Relief Bill (S 2237), which was returned to Calendar No. 341 as of July 12, 2012. 3).?Scheduled for a hearing?at the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation on August 1, 2012.

The Romney campaign is holding 24 events, in fact -- in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Virginia, Ohio, Iowa, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Mexico and Nevada -- to "allow small business owners the chance to respond to President Obama's claim that 'if you've got a business--you didn't build that. Small Business Facebook Advertising Tips | Successful PPC ...

Facebook LikesAre you considering a Facebook advertising campaign for your small business? Before you get started you first need to consider the goal of advertising on Facebook. Do you want to generate more traffic to your website, get more leads, increase brand exposure, or simply to get more fans to like your business page? The good news is that you can achieve any one of these goals with Facebook advertising. Once you have chosen your goal you can then begin developing a successful Pay-Per-Click (PPC) strategy.

Follow the steps and tips below to create your campaign:

  1. Destination?
One of the first steps is to choose the destination for your ads. In other words, the landing page for where people visit after clicking on your ad. The destination can be your website, a specific post, your company page, event, or an application. The application destination is only relevant if you have created a custom application for your business on Facebook.
  2. Promotion
Next, you simply choose what you want to promote. You can promote your company page, a specific post, a new ad about your company, or stories about friends liking your page. If your goal is to generate new likes and traffic to your page, then choose to promote your page or a specific post on the page. If your goal is to drive traffic to your website or get new leads then choosing a landing page on your website will be the best way to achieve these results.
  3. What People Will See
Your third step in the set up process is to choose what type of ad your audience will see. The following are options for your ad creative based upon what you decide to promote:
    1. A new ad about your page ? by default the headline will be your company page name and you can choose your own text and image.
    2. Stories about friends liking your page ? for this particular ad your ad will be automatically created based on the actions friends took on the page. These ads are typically a great way to build new likes for a page because the ad will be shown to friends of the people that like your page.
    3. A post on your page ? here you get to choose from your most recent post/updates on your page. This type of ad seems to perform best if you frequently share educational information that has broad appeal. You can either choose one particular post or keep the ad automatically updated with your most recent post.
    4. External URL ? if you choose to build an ad sending people to an external url from Facebook you have a lot more options for the ad creative. After you enter the destination url you can have Facebook suggest an ad based on the destination url, or you can create your own ad below. If you decide to make your own ad, the following are the needed materials: headline, text and image. As with all online advertising we suggest creating a few variations of the ad to test out your messaging and images to develop the most successful ad.
  4. Choosing An Audience
Choosing the target audience for your ad campaign is extremely important to determining the success of your campaign. If you develop an audience that is too broad we?ve found that your ads are rarely shown. It is usually best to set up very targeted ad groups to achieve the best results, the more specific the audience the better you can tailor your advertising message. For instance, if you specific target women, ages 20-30, in San Diego your message will most likely be very different than if the audience you were targeting was men, ages 40-50, in Minneapolis. As you select your audience keep an eye on the right column to see your target audience size adjust as you make modifications. The following are criteria you can use to find your target audience:
    1. Location ? like many other PPC platforms you can choose to segment the audience by country, state/province, city or zip code.
    2. Age ? you can require an exact age match or choose an age range.
    3. Gender ? choose to target by gender.
    4. Precise interests ? this is a great way to find a segment of people that are interested in your products or services. Simply type in interests that are related to your business and choose the topics and interests that match your offerings. As you select interests Facebook will provide similar likes and interests to help you build a robust list.
    5. Broad categories ? use the broad categories tool to easily find segments of people. The following are a few of the available categories: activities, ethnic, events, family status, music, business/technology, etc?.
  5. Campaign and Budget
After your ad and audience are finalized the last steps are to name the campaign, set the budget, and schedule the campaign. We suggest choosing the Cost Per Click (CPC) option for pricing so you only get charged when people click on the ads.
  6. Additional PPC Tips
    1. To copy an existing ad simply click on the name of the ad and click on ?create a similar ad? at the bottom of the ad preview.
    2. Set up weekly performance monitoring to see which ads are doing the best. Use this information to pause weak ads, or to develop better ads.
    3. Don?t be afraid to experiment with new ad variations or your target audience.
    4. If you are running ads to promote your page or posts then check out the Insights tab on your company page to see just how many new likes or activity are from your sponsored ads.

Virtual Reality is the better Reality

Virtual Reality is the better Reality

In the world, there are many trending novelties. Among the top, Virtual Reality. People would kill to be able to live a different life, live a different Reality. A place they could start their lives over without worry. Whats your story?

This is the auto-generated OOC topic for the roleplay "Virtual Reality is the better Reality"

Feel free to suggest ideas to make this roleplay even better, without changing the fundamental base of it. I know the introduction isn't long, and for those who like long intros to read, I'm sorry.remember, it has been 3 years since I've done anything with this. I'm always open to backstory development, so if you feel like I should add something, edit something, or remove something, let me know, I will listen and weigh your input against what I have planned for the roleplay. This has the potential to be one of the long roleplays. please keep this alive ^^;

Ultimately, it's up to you, but remember, you have one character who is human, and one character who is virtual, so nothing fantastical for your human, and go all out on your virtual xD
