We decided to take Luke?s Strider bike with us over to the Loveland Bike Trail and we were happy to find out that we got there just in time to take in the 9/11 Memorial at the park. They were handing out flags to all the kids and the memorial service was wonderful to sit and listen to in the park while Luke rode his bike on ALL the hills nearby! My little daredevil got up and got straight back on his bike after scraping up his knee and arm when he went flying down a hill (with Daddy running to chase after him!) that caught him by surprise behind the playground. He tried to put his feet down to stop but was going so fast and ended up slipping up on the leaves that covered the paved pathway. He did so great on his bike, we couldn?t get him off of it! We even did a nice walk down the bike trail behind him and decided that since we couldn?t keep up with him, it was time to purchase our own bikes and go biking as a family this Fall, while the weather was still nice! We got close to purchasing a his & hers set last year for our Anniversary gift to each other but put a hold on it b/c the wheel on our CR-V is off the side and we can?t put a bike rack on it. So I guess we?re going to have to look at getting a bike trailer instead. The funny thing was seeing people look at Luke?s Strider bike?.most people thought we took the pedals and bike chain off which made us giggle! Only one gentleman looked at us and said ?Gotta love the Strider!? as we were leaving so I?m hoping it was great advertisement for the balance bikes for toddlers ? I love that you can get them all over now (even at Target!).
Anyway, I hope you also had a great weekend ? and didn?t forget to take a moment out of your busy schedules to remember the heroes, families and tragedies of 9/11.
