If you live in Los Angeles or ever visit the area, one of the not-to-miss places is the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). With twenty acres and seven buildings to its name, LACMA is one of the largest museums in the United States. You can easily spend a day exploring LACMA and you probably still would have to come back to see more! LACMA also screens movies in their outside amphitheater, so if you are looking for something fun to do with the kids this summer before school starts, check out their three upcoming family friendly film screenings.

1.??How to Train Your Dragon? (2010): In this movie a young viking?s unlikely friendship with a dragon causes him to wonder if dragons really are the enemy after all.
WHEN:?Friday, August 17 at 8 p.m.
2. Volume 1 of Pixar?s Short Film Collection (2007): The audience will get treated to 13 cute, short animated films created by Pixar, as well as the ?best of? short films from the Los Angeles International Children?s Film Festival?s past seven years.
WHEN:?Friday, August 24 at 8 p.m.
3.??Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs? (2009): Food starts falling from the sky in this animated film that is based on the children?s book.
WHEN: Friday, August 31 at 8 p.m.
The films are screened in the Dorothy Collins Brown Amphitheater, located in the park directly behind LACMA and are part of LACMA?s Animation August. There is limited seating so people are advised to bring low chairs and blankets and to get there around 7 p.m. There is $10 parking available by the amphitheater and there is a shop by the amphitheater where you can purchase snacks. You can also bring your own food. ?Pets on leashes are allowed.
