Bleiweis named CEO of Energy Automation Systems

A Hendersonville-based company that deals in energy-saving technology has named a new CEO.

Energy Automation Systems Inc. has announced that Paul Bleiweis, the company's president since 2002, will add chief executive to his job title. He'll take over from founder Joseph Merlo, who will remain owner and chairman.

The company provides technology that it says can lower energy costs by 10 percent to 30 percent. It has an assembly facility in Gallatin and installation locations around the United States and world. The following are excerpts from the company's announcement:

Trevecca Nazarene University, Hendersonville Utility District and Holladay Properties are among Nashville organizations using EASI technologies to lower their energy costs.

?EASI is growing even in today?s weak economy, and Paul Bleiweis is a major reason for our success,? Merlo said. ?He shares my passion and enthusiasm to help companies become more efficient and profitable by reducing their energy costs.

Bleiweis received his doctorate in nuclear science and engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles. His professional background is in energy conservation; energy production, management and distribution; and energy technology development and applications.
